The Activity of The Trinity in The Book Of Genesis
2- The Human Angel
God was able to speak to the mankind and activate with him by using the form or the shape of the Angel of Yahweh , we observed when we have spoken about Abraham's offering to God in Genesis 22:9 - 14 That the Angel of Yahweh spoke to him out of heaven and said " Lay not thine hand upon the lad " , and enabled him to see the ram to offer it as a sacrifice instead of his son "Isac" ,so Abraham called the place " Jehovah jireh " which means "The Lord will see" , The angel was calling him out of heaven in Genesis 22: 15 - 18 ,saying "By myself have I sworn saith the Lord , for because thou hast done thing , and hast not withheld thy son ,...etc," .
The use of the word [Angel] (Melech in the Hebrew , Angelion in the Greek ) was a word that have many General uses more than its uses now , that is because , the arts pictured the angel ,using different shapes that decreased the uses of the word to have a limited conception ,to be imagined according to the images which the artists have done , but if we observed the prophecy of Malachi 3:1 " Behold I will send my messenger ( Melech in Hebrew which means angel ) , Mark 1:2 and Luke 7: 27 interpreted it to be about the coming of John the Baptist "As it is written in the prophets Behold ,I send my messenger ( in the original Greek word Angellion which means angel) , But John the Baptist was a human person ,so the translators of the RSV translated the word a messenger to be suitable for the human person .
The word Angel was used not to intend sex or gender of a creature , but to describe the nature of the message of the messenger ,as it was sent by God who is higher than the man and the messenger, whatever was his Sex or Gender .
God was dealing with the man and spoke to him using a human form or shape to give the man a chance to activate with that form or shape ,of a human being picture which reflected the presence of the original being that located in God's eternal plan of redemption,even before the creation ,the man was created due to that image.
It was normal to deal with him ( Jacob ) , using the form or shape of a man , see Genesis 32:28 " for as a prince with God ( who was the man who wrestled him) and with men ...", so Jacob was able to reach to the result that the man was God see Genesis 32:30 so he called the place Peniel which means "The face of God" and said at last "I have seen Gods face to face and myself is preserved .
But when he remembered these events after wards before his son Joseph in Genesis 48:3,4 "God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me " also in Genesis 48:15 "God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isac did walk etc,The Angel which redeemed me from the evil bless the lads and ...etc,.
Therefore God is that man who wrestle him , and He is in the same time The Human Angel God who has the authority to bless the lads .
The personality of the son had that triple form ,He had an active existence due to that form in the different events, even for Hagar in Genesis 16:7 " And the angel of the Lord found her by a fountain in the water in the wilderness by the fountain in the way of Shur " He said to her in verses 10,11 "I multiply thy seed exceedingly ...etc," thus he had the authority to promise, and act ,and bless .
God dealt with Abraham when he came to visit him in Genesis 18 as one of the three visitors who has come to Abraham tent ,in spite of He had a normal shape as a man , but He was God who had authority to give Abraham a son ,and had the knowledge to tell Sarai about her inner feeling , also He remained with Abraham to discuss with him the problem of Sodom and Gomorrah , while the two other men were angels who went to do their task with Lot according to the orders of God .
The strange man's appearing always put the fathers before three possibilities, may be the man is a normal human person , or may be he is an angel , but sometimes He was God Himself in the form of contacting his people , They accepted these concepts simply , their minds was directed by the guidance of the spirit , added to the spontaneous feeling of His Prestige and authority .
